Stress Tests
The system shown has two rotating actuator outputs in the test chamber, whose motion sequence can be freely programmed. A test-unit-specific fixture (shown here in blue) is mounted on these outputs; depending on the configuration, 10, 20 or more test units can be mounted on it and moved.
Thanks to interchangeable actuator and test unit modules, a wide range of stress tests can be performed on a wide variety of test units (see examples above). The mechanical stress can be applied either rotationally or linearly. Actuator frequency as well as speed, force, torque etc. can be tailored to customer requirements.
Climate Simulation / Thermal Tests
The actuation unit described above is installed inside a thermal or climate simulation chamber. The climate simulation (temperature and humidity) can be specified with just a few commands in our test program. Any sequences can be freely programmed within the operating parameters of the climate chamber. These operating parameters depend on the selected chamber. Typical parameters in the automotive sector are, for example, temperatures between -50 °C and 150 °C and humidity from 0 to 100 %.
Electrical Tests and Test Unit Monitoring
In parallel with the mechanical and climatic stress, each individual test unit is continuously checked for open circuits and short circuits. This check allows an adjustable continuous test current of up to 2,000 mA per channel. Voltage and current are measured continuously at high frequency and monitored for faults.
The measured insulation and continuity resistance, current and voltage at the test unit can be monitored in real time and compared with specified tolerances. In the event of a fault such as a short circuit or open circuit, the real-time fault pattern is saved to a measurement file. At the same time, the measurement data are evaluated statistically and backed up cyclically.
The software and electronics used are developed in-house and are easy to operate thanks to a modern user interface. A test can be set up and started in just a few steps.
In addition, experienced operators can compose the test sequence individually at a deeper level using a simple programming language. This opens up enormous flexibility, with virtually no limits on the tests or the test units. If you need further functions that the test bench does not yet offer, just ask us – we are happy to implement customer-specific extensions!
