The Customised Solution
The test unit is connected to the measuring chamber and the electrical supply. Voltage, frequency, pre-run and measuring times as well as the required measuring sequence are set on the test bench computer. Once the supply has been regulated, the test unit is switched on. The system acquires the chamber pressure along with the associated electrical and other measured variables, and calculates airflow, air power and efficiency from them.
An automatically positioned orifice wheel changes the flow resistance and thus the operating point of the test unit. Between measuring points, an additional valve opens to vent the measuring chamber. The subsequent waiting or cooling phase is controlled by an adjustable time or by the measured turbine temperature. The orifice wheel then moves to the next position and the measurement continues.
The measuring sequence can be repeated for several specified supply voltages. For targeted individual tests, selected orifice positions can also be approached manually. Several pressure measuring ranges allow different suction pressures to be recorded; additional connections enable measurements directly on the appliance.
Supply and measuring equipment are combined in a separate measuring tower. An external operating unit near the measuring chamber provides the controls and the connections for test unit and sensors. The software saves measurement data in CSV, TDM or TDMS format and generates PDF test reports. Input signals and orifice correction factors can be adjusted via a calibration function.

Benefits for Development and Quality Assurance
The automated measuring sequence creates a comparable data basis for evaluating different appliances, blowers and development stages. Air power and electrical power consumption are considered together, so efficiency can be assessed across different operating points.
Automatic orifice change and programmable measuring sequences reduce manual intervention. Defined cooling phases support reproducible test conditions. Stored measurement data and test reports make it easier to compare variants, analyse deviations and document development results.
